Jim Reba Bio
 Jim Reba established Direct Import Advisors (DIA), a LLC specializing in consulting services for companies who are now doing Import business out of the Far East, or who are contemplating involvement in Import business in the future.
The Company possesses Import expertise in the areas of Administration, Customer Service, Finance, Operations and Systems. It also has affiliations with personnel in these areas, both in the United States and Hong Kong.
As part of its consulting services, DIA has successfully serviced a U.S. client base in every phase of an Import "Start Up" operation, setting up related functions, systems and controls, both in the U.S. and in Hong Kong/China.
Jim initiated the Direct Import function at Hasbro, Inc., and controlled every aspect of its operation for more than 25 years. Other facts regarding Jim´s professional background in the area of Direct Imports at Hasbro, Inc. are:
• Established Hasbro´s Direct Import Function in 1979 at a sales volume of $3.5 million. Since that time, Direct Import sales have grown to in excess of $600 million, with Jim having been the individual that initiated every system and process which complemented that growth.
• Established an interactive sales and management control reporting system that services both the U.S. and Hong Kong offices.
• Worked in conjunction with tax personnel to establish an organizational structure that cut the effective tax rate for the division by an amount in excess of 80%.
• Developed an operations forecasting system that provided for the orderly flow of material in the manufacturing process, while minimizing inventory exposure.
• Limited U.S. customer service headcount growth to two (2) people through systems and process redesign, while sales quadrupled from $150 million to $600 million.
• Coordinated the incorporation of two (2) satellite Direct Import divisions, with sales volume in excess of $300 million, into Hasbro´s Toy Group Direct Import function.
• Traveled extensively to Hong Kong and to China in various capacities relating to Hasbro´s Direct Import function.
• Successfully coordinated and implemented all aspects of six (6) different Hasbro Direct Import "Start Ups" over a 25-year period.
• Established a program that fully detailed and documented all customer sales allowance deductions for the Hasbro Toy Group that led to the IRS reversing a $3 million income tax chargeback.
Jim holds a B.S. in Accounting from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. (With Distinction) in Finance from Babson College.
